Surviving

It's time,
She says.
The Box is open; you did all you could. There was nothing required,
Nothing you could have done. Didn't do. No failure.
No reasons -
So, no need to ask. Don't ask anymore.

Just feel.
Feel the years
Twisting and sighing
Beaten, pulpy and vacant. Turning and falling to the floor,
Floods of gasping sobs
Choking your neck and wrists. Hurtling through space
Under this sunny Star.

Look up,
She says. Take my hand.
I'm the Survivor.
I held you; Thorny, bruised and stuffed down.
Wispy layers of questions breathed into your pillow.
It was enough then.

Take my hand.
I'm the Survivor, She says.
I see your Face reflected
In the open Box. You did all you could do.
No reasons. No failure.
So, don't ask anymore.
Take my hand.
Come on,
Let's walk into Love.
